Foto's | Finstaättens heraldiska vapen Finstaätten was one noble family from Uppland named after Finsta farm. The family has no real family name; the family was sometimes called Two wings, and Finstaätten is a contemporary conventional term after Finsta farm, which, however, was not in the proper sense the estate of this family. The branch died out during 1300s. Weapons: The weapons of the family varied: the prelates in Finstaätten had varying seals without weapons of arms. Knight Erland Israelsson, the uncle of Lawman Birger, carried a cross between two wings, his son the knight Johan Ängel d. Y. his grandfather's weapon, an angel, while Lawman Birger took up his mother's weapon, two black faceed wings with wing brackets outwards on red, however, the wings may have been of silver, according to Jan Raneke, Swedish medieval weapons. The ancestor Israel died before 1269. His son Jakob Israelsson, died in 1281, was Archbishop of Uppsala and his grandson Israel Erlandsson bishop in Västerås. |
